Egyptian cotton and linen on the bed, a plunge pool on the deck, breakfast from the surrounding orchards. We meet you at the airport or your boat — the road in is part of the welcome. Leaving is optional from there. Every guest, every review: five stars.

La Casa Selva is a two-suite Caribbean retreat on Isla Colón, Bocas del Toro. We grow what we serve on a working tropical garden a short walk from the rooms. We meet you at the airport or boat dock and drive you in, in our side-by-side when the weather's good and the pickup when it isn't. The road is rugged in spots; that's part of arriving here. Inside: Egyptian cotton and linen, blackout curtains, all-natural bath products, a Nespresso machine, a complimentary mini bar in room. Outside: a plunge pool on each deck, e-bikes at the door, the chickens out back. The kitchen will prepare snacks, a salad or sandwich if you'd rather not leave. In-room massage available if you'd rather not move at all. We're owner-grown and owner-run, two of us today, a small team as we grow. Two suites now. Four by autumn. A spa after that.
