A daily gourmet breakfast is included with your stay and is a highlight for many guests. Breakfasts are fresh, seasonal, and inspired by local island flavors — think tropical fruit, house-made elements, quality coffee, and thoughtfully prepared plates enjoyed in a relaxed jungle setting. We happily accommodate gluten-free, vegetarian, and other dietary preferences with advance notice. From time to time, we also host intimate pop-up dinners or shared meals featuring local ingredients — details available during your stay.

La Casa Selva is tucked just outside of town along a quiet jungle road on Isla Colón, offering privacy, tranquility, and an immersive rainforest setting. After the main paved road, the final stretch to the property is an unpaved jungle road of approximately 2 km. The road is accessible year-round by car, taxi, e-bike, and bicycle, though vehicles with four-wheel drive are recommended due to a short hill leading to the property.

To make arrival and departure effortless, we’re happy to arrange transportation to and from the resort for check-in and check-out. We can also assist with transportation during your stay, whether you plan to explore town, beaches, or nearby attractions.

As La Casa Selva is located in the jungle, guests may occasionally encounter small wildlife such as geckos or insects. While sightings inside guest spaces are uncommon, they are part of the natural environment and the authentic rainforest experience. For guests who appreciate nature, quiet surroundings, and off-the-beaten-path beauty, this setting is part of what makes a stay here so special.

Guests of La Casa Selva enjoy access to thoughtfully designed shared and private spaces that balance connection and privacy. Shared areas include an indoor bar and living space, as well as a projector for watching films or shows on the big screen. During pop-up dinner evenings, the bar and dining areas are open to guests. The property features shared outdoor deck spaces, while each suite also includes its own completely private outdoor seating area. The owners live onsite in a separate private suite, and with only two guest suites available, the atmosphere remains quiet, personal, and intentionally intimate.

Guests enjoy a private king suite with an ensuite bathroom and private deck, along with access to shared outdoor and lounge areas on the property. Complimentary e-bikes are provided for easy trips into town and nearby beaches, and free parking is available onsite for guests with vehicles. The property is accessed by road and is easily reachable while still feeling secluded and immersed in nature.

At La Casa Selva, our approach to hosting is attentive yet unobtrusive. We’re typically available during breakfast service and on pop-up dinner evenings, and we’re always happy to share local insights, island recommendations, or let guests know about special events happening around Bocas del Toro. On evenings when guests choose to dine in town, we’re pleased to assist with transportation arrangements. Beyond these moments, we respect our guests’ space and privacy, tailoring our level of interaction to your preferences and allowing you to set the pace for your stay.

La Casa Selva is located in a lush jungle setting just outside of town (10 mins), and access to the property includes approximately 20 stairs from the parking area to the main house. Once inside, all guest spaces are on a single level. This may not be suitable for guests with mobility challenges.

As we are immersed in the rainforest, guests may occasionally encounter small wildlife such as geckos or insects. Jungle sounds—including birds, frogs, and occasional howler monkeys—are a normal and beautiful part of the experience.

As part of the La Casa Selva experience, guests may occasionally encounter our friendly free-roaming chickens and our two well-behaved dogs who live on the property. They are gentle, accustomed to guests, and add to the relaxed, lived-in charm of our jungle retreat. While interactions are minimal and always respectful of guest space, we believe in being transparent so you can book with confidence.
